Title: Saving Lives One Byte at a Time
Abstract: Imagine a “smart shoe” that provides feedback to help senior citizens avoid falls. Or a system that predicts one’s chances of a heart attack. These and other next-generation health care technologies are the main focus of this talk. As debate rages over the cost and effectiveness of America’s health care system, this talk describes collaboration between computer scientists and practicing physicians to develop easily understood solutions that save patients’ time, money and lives.
